When Zelda came into my life in March 2012, I had a quiet intuition that she would one day break my heart—and when she left us on February 8, 2024, she did exactly that. The silence she left behind is profound.
For twelve years, she was my shadow, my constant, and a primary reason to keep moving forward. She didn’t just walk beside me; in many ways, she saved me.
Since her passing, I have tried to stay busy, attempting to fill the space she once so effortlessly occupied. Yet, in every pause and every quiet moment, I still feel her presence. The ache remains, and I’ve come to realize that it likely always will.
Cherish the companionship that changes your life; some bonds leave a permanent mark on who we are.
Fly high, my love.

I lost my beloved Ysera Jade in December 2024. She was truly the resident "show pony," a dog who greeted everyone she met with open affection. Her passing was both unexpected and devastating.
Our journey wasn’t without its challenges. When Ysera was two, her annual Holter monitor revealed cardiac arrhythmia. I immediately removed her from my breeding program, choosing instead to keep her by my side as a cherished companion. By the age of four, she had already navigated two obstruction surgeries—the second a heartbreaking necessity after a case of veterinary malpractice during the first procedure irreparably damaged her intestines.
In late 2024, our world narrowed down to her health. Despite significantly increasing her food intake, she began to lose weight rapidly. The post-mortem findings were difficult to process: her intestines had formed severe adhesions, appearing like a tangled knot that made proper absorption impossible. With no medical path forward to give her a quality of life, we made the impossible decision to say goodbye.
The loss of a companion who has weathered so much by your side is a unique kind of grief. Rest easy, Ysera. You were loved beyond measure.
Fly high my sweet Peep.
